How Much Does a Neck Lift Cost in Turkey in 2026?

A neck lift in Istanbul costs €2,000–4,500 as of March 2026, compared to €5,000–12,000 in the UK and $6,000–15,000 in the USA. These are all-inclusive package prices covering the surgeon, hospital stay, hotel, transfers, and aftercare. The wide range depends on whether you need a mini lift, standard platysmaplasty, or a deep neck lift with fat removal.

Most of our neck lift patients combine the procedure with a facelift – addressing both areas in a single surgery means one recovery period instead of two. The combination runs €4,500–7,000 in Turkey, roughly a third of UK pricing.

What Types of Neck Lift Are Available?

Neck lift surgery procedure at Turkish clinic

Three main neck lift techniques exist. Your surgeon recommends based on the cause of your neck aging – loose skin, platysmal banding (those vertical cords), excess fat, or a combination.

Platysmaplasty. The most common full neck lift. Your surgeon tightens the platysma muscle (the broad muscle that runs from your chest to your jawline), removes excess fat, and trims redundant skin. Incisions are hidden behind the ears and under the chin. This is the procedure for “turkey neck” with visible banding.

Mini neck lift / submentoplasty. Smaller incision under the chin only. Works for patients with excess submental fat (double chin) and mild skin laxity. Liposuction of the chin area is often included. Faster recovery (7–10 days versus 2 weeks) but doesn’t address platysmal banding or significant jowling.

Deep neck lift. Goes beneath the platysma to address deeper fat compartments and structural issues. This is for patients with heavy necks, significant subplatysmal fat, or digastric muscle fullness. Technically demanding – not every surgeon offers this. Our primary surgeon for this technique has performed over 400 deep neck lifts.

After five years living in Istanbul, I can tell you the biggest misconception about neck lifts: patients think they can fix the neck without addressing the jawline. In most cases, a neck lift alone leaves a visible transition line where the treated neck meets the untreated lower face. That’s why our surgeons frequently recommend combining neck work with a facelift or at minimum treating the jowl area.

What Does the Surgery and Recovery Look Like?

Neck lift surgery takes 2–3 hours under general anesthesia (1.5–2 hours for mini neck lift under local with sedation). One night in the hospital, then 7–10 days of recovery in Istanbul.

Days 1–3. Chin strap compression garment 24/7. Moderate swelling, bruising from ear to ear. Head stays raised – sleep on two pillows. Pain is manageable with prescribed medication, described by most patients as tightness rather than sharp pain.

Days 4–7. Bruising turns yellow-green. Sutures behind ears checked, drains removed if placed. You can shower gently. Short walks around your hotel neighborhood in Sisli or Besiktas. The swelling makes your neck look thicker than before surgery – this is temporary and resolves over weeks.

Days 7–10. Most sutures removed. Compression garment transitions to nighttime only. You’re cleared to fly. Still swollen, but concealable with a scarf or turtleneck.

Weeks 2–6 at home. Swelling subsides progressively. By week 3–4, you start seeing the actual contour. No heavy exercise for 6 weeks. Three video follow-ups with your surgeon are included.

Months 2–6. Final results settle. Scars behind the ears and under the chin fade to thin white lines.

My partner is present at your pre-op consultation, on surgery day, and at all follow-up appointments. She coordinates everything with the surgical team and stays in touch after you return home.

Is Neck Lift Surgery in Turkey Safe?

Before and after neck lift rejuvenation results

Yes – when performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon in a JCI-accredited hospital. Neck lifts are among the safer cosmetic procedures because the anatomy is relatively accessible and complications are uncommon.

    Main risks to know:

Hematoma (1–3%). Blood collection under the skin, most common in the first 24 hours. This is why we keep you in the hospital overnight – if it happens, it’s handled immediately.

Nerve injury (temporary: 3–5%, permanent: less than 0.5%). The marginal mandibular nerve runs near the surgical area. Temporary weakness in the lower lip can occur. It resolves within weeks to months in the vast majority of cases.

Asymmetry. Some degree of asymmetry is normal (everyone’s face is asymmetric). Significant asymmetry requiring revision is rare with experienced surgeons.

Results last 7–12 years. You continue aging from your new starting point. Sun protection and skincare extend the result.

Can I Combine a Neck Lift with Other Procedures?

This is one of the most common combination procedures we arrange. The neck doesn’t age in isolation – addressing it alongside the lower face gives a harmonious result.

    • Neck lift + Facelift – the most requested combo. One anesthesia session, one recovery.
    • Neck lift + Chin liposuction – for patients whose main concern is a double chin with mild skin laxity.
    • Neck lift + Forehead lift – less common but effective for full facial rejuvenation in one trip.
    • Neck lift + Skin rejuvenation – laser or PRP treatments to improve skin texture and complement the surgical result.

If you’re considering multiple procedures, start with our Facial & Body Analysis consultation. The surgeon evaluates your entire face and recommends what combination will give the most natural result.

What Real Patients Ask Us (FAQ)

Surgeon performing neck lift contouring procedure

“Can I fix my turkey neck without surgery?” Mild cases respond to Kybella (fat dissolution injections) or thread lifts, but results are limited and temporary. For moderate to severe “turkey neck” with platysmal banding, surgery is the only option that delivers lasting improvement.

“How visible are the scars?” Incisions are placed behind the ears and sometimes under the chin in a natural crease. After 6–12 months, they’re very difficult to spot. Men with short hair should discuss incision placement with their surgeon to ensure scars aren’t visible.

“What age is best for a neck lift?” Most of our patients are 45–65, but anatomy matters more than age. If you have significant neck laxity at 40, you’re a candidate. If your neck is firm at 60, you might only need skin rejuvenation or a thread lift.

“How long until I look normal?” Socially presentable: 10–14 days (with makeup and scarves). Looking good: 3–4 weeks. Final result: 3–6 months.

      Your Most Important Questions, Answered

How is a neck lift different from a facelift?

Neck lift targets below the jawline – removing excess skin, tightening muscles, eliminating fat deposits. Facelift addresses mid and lower face (cheeks, jowls, nasolabial folds). While often combined for harmony, neck lifts can be performed alone if facial aging is minimal. Many benefit from both for detailed rejuvenation.

Yes, if caused by excess fat and loose skin. Surgery removes fat via liposuction and tightens muscle/skin. If you have genetically weak chin, adding implant creates better definition. Your surgeon assesses what combination delivers optimal profile during consultation. May recommend facial analysis for complete planning.

Incisions strategically placed behind ears and sometimes under chin, hidden in natural creases. Initially pink, fading to thin white lines within 6-12 months. Most become virtually invisible with proper care. Hair styling covers ear incisions easily, chin incision hides in shadow.

Absolutely. Common combinations include facelift, forehead lift, chin augmentation, and skin rejuvenation. Many patients also schedule dental work or hair restoration consultations during recovery. Single trip efficiency saves time and money.

Most describe it easier than expected. Days 1-3 involve rest with mild discomfort controlled by medication. Days 4-5 see walking, normal eating. Day 7-10 brings major improvement. Hardest part often boredom, not pain. Many use recovery time for aesthetic consultations or light skin treatments.

Neck lifts have highest satisfaction rates in plastic surgery. Dramatic profile improvement significantly impacts appearance and confidence. Unlike temporary treatments, results last 10-15 years. Suitable from 40s-70s depending on anatomy. Most say they wish they’d done it sooner.

Yes, revision neck lifts are possible as aging continues. Secondary surgery is more complex but experienced surgeons handle routinely. Turkish surgeons’ high volumes mean extensive revision experience. Results can be excellent with proper technique. Often combined with facial procedures for complete rejuvenation.
